DVC Dedicated Rental Search Engine

Search all of the major DVC rental sites in one fell swoop. I am working installing a new site template, so please ignore any random images for now! 😀

  • (08/07/2026)  I noticed this week that  DVCRentalStore listings with start dates before today were still loading as active in my database. Long story short: They made a change to how their site presents listings and my script was failing and just reloading the old data from last week every run. Fixed as of late morning today so those old listings should drop off tomorrow. Also: It will look like there were a LOT of new listings appearing today, but it is just the new ones my script missed since 7/31. Good times.
  • Filter Bug Fixed: (07/31/2026): The plugin vendor released a new update that fixed the bug that caused no records to be returned if you try to filter on a room or resort that has a space in the name. That allowed me to change back the dropdown box setting for each to what it was before. The setting I had changed it to to work around the bug was causing the filter drop downs for those fields to be VERY slow.
  • Median Update! (2/13/2026) Since I archived the 2023 data a few weeks ago, I just got around to crunching the current medians. Nothing too shocking, but for those nerdy enough to notice many monthly medians (say that 3x fast!) changed. Most were small, a couple by a few dozen $, but I’m still analyzing that in my brain.
  • Price vs Median filter: Not a fan of how the filters work using this new system when I want users to be able to select an amount and have it filter anything <= to that selection. Hopefully I can find a better way to implement this filter, but for now I’ve set it up to use a slider.

Also: for comparison in the Price vs Median column I have now changed from using an “overall” median crunched using ALL historical listings for a particular Resort and Room Type combo to using a “monthly” median. The monthly median value is calculated using only historical listings for that room that also started in the same month as the current listing. While still not a perfect comparison because points calendars do bleed across months, I believe it should still be a fairly decent indicator on how a listing compares in that time frame and definitely better than comparing to the overall median.

  • Pro Tip: This particular column filter is a percentage, so, for example: if you want to see all listings that were at least 10% under median price, slide the right circle on the slider to the left until it says -10. (Again, not a great fan of the slider, but for now  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
  • The Open button colors once I applied the new theme are much better than the ones I had before, but I still plan to change the text color to white when I get a chance!
